Jeffery's ATV
Wendy and Jeffery went to a birthday party last weekend for a girl in his nursery class at church. His favorite thing at the party was the ATV. Wendy said that she had to literally drag him away, kicking and screaming, to get him to leave after the party was over. He was really not concerned with the color. This was battery operated, so he could actually drive it.

Fashion Show
Wendy had bought some clothes for the children recently and she wanted them to try them on. So she decided to do a fashion show. There was a lot of clothes involved. There are several video clips that were just too large to download, but here are some of the pictures.

Ethan, dancing and being goofy, with a new shirt and pants.

Katherine's new shirt and pants. She is not camera shy.

Jamie with new clothes. she strives on being picky - can be good or bad.

Houma Relief Work
Here are some picture that we took while I was in Louisiana this weekend. We were assigned to go to the Houma, La. area to help those in need. We packed up our chainsaws and my ATV. I rode down with Leroy while Paul and James rode down together later. On Saturday, there were about 12 of us in a crew that was formed from the Gardendale, Leeds, Gadsden and Birmingham 2nd Wards. I saw other members from the Locust Fork Branch as well. We had 5 work orders to complete. We did most of them before 4:00 PM on that day. One we could not complete because of the equipment and material that were required.

Here is our abode for two nights - Leroy and I.

This was our first project that we had to work on. It called for a tarp to put on the roof but we saw a dangerous tree so we asked the home owner and the neighbor if we could cut it.

Canning, part II
Saturday, we went into round 2 of canning the goods. As you can see below we had a lot to do but we did it quicker than last time. We established a pretty good program. We might have gotten done quicker if I didn't have to take a temporary time out to watch a certain football game, but it sure was a good one.

This is a picture of Paul pouring the wheat and the pallet of cans dwindling fast (a picture of Becky and Jeffery).

One Year Supply
We just got our shipment in about a week or two ago. Becky had it at her place so I went over and loaded it up on the truck. I should've took a picture of the truck right before I unloaded it. The food that you see is not only ours but the Smith's, too. It was easier for us to take it to our house and can it here. We have the ward canner that we use. We basically use a program of 4 - 5 people to get what we have canned and into boxes. It will be a lot of stuff to can. This past Saturday we canned 100 cans in about 3 1/2 hours time. We should get quicker as we go along.

You can see here 25 lb bags of red wheat. There is also potatoe flakes in the background. The lids are sitting on top.

Here is an example of a canned box.

Here are the cans minus 100 and 1 fatality that we found. The cans are stacked on a pallet. I pulled the pallet off of the truck using my 4-wheeler. Very easy! I'll let you know how it goes.
